Haugrdr. You can't tell the date of manufacture of a Kel Tec by the serial number. All you can tell is the number of the unit made...in order. Kel Tec is getting pretty close to making the 50,000 KSG...so any number above say 20-25,000 will be a 2nd gen. There's a formula for figuring out the number...I posted it below it or YOU post the number ...Kel-tec has been building the SUB-2000 since 2001 and this week, American Rifleman's Kelly Young happens to have one.
